Effective Altruism

I consider myself part of the growing movement known as effective altruism, described by Wikipedia as "a philosophy and social movement which applies evidence and reason to working out the most effective ways to improve the world".

The Life You Can Save is an organisation named after Singer's book of the same name. Members pledge to donate 1% or more of their life's income.
